CAMPING SAFARI: Go in search of wildlife in Kenya’s famed Masai Mara Reserve before exploring neighbouring Tanzania on this 13-day overland camping safari. Continue your safari adventure in the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, and visit the coastal towns of Bagamoyo and Dar es Salaam. Then take the ferry to Zanzibar, for three days, exploring Stone Town and relaxing on beautiful palm fringed beaches.

Day 1

Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting 18:00
The adventure begins tonight. Feel free to explore before your welcome meeting, but make sure you’re back in time to meet the group. After introductions, your CEO will review the details of your tour. Please note that normal check-in times apply at our start hotels, but you can usually store your luggage for the day if you arrive early.

Day 2

Nairobi/Masai Mara
Journey through the Great Rift Valley on the way to one of the most famous national parks in Africa. Enjoy a late afternoon wildlife safari drive in the hopes of spotting the Big Five.
Travel from Nairobi, through the Great Rift Valley on to Kenya's premier wildlife reserve.
In the afternoon, arrive in the area and get settled at the safari camp, our base for our time here.
Head out for a late afternoon wildlife safari drive with excellent chances of seeing the Big Five.
Accommodation:  Kenia Campsite (or similar)
Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Day 3

Masai Mara
Enjoy an early wildlife safari drive when animals are most active. Opt to visit a Masai village, learn to dance like a warrior, stop in the manyatta (family compound) and also learn about this nomadic culture.
Masai Mara Wildlife Safari Drive Masai Mara in the Morning: Explore the area afterwards with some free time.

Day 4

Masai Mara/Nairobi
Enjoy one last safari drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve before departing for Nairobi, where the tour ends upon arrival.
Breathe in the fresh morning air, stretch and enjoy the African sun as it rises over the savannah of the "Mara". Visit a watering hole while on a morning safari drive, a perfect time and place for wildlife photography. Visit the G for Good supported Ubuntu Cafe for lunch, before heading back to Nairobi, where the tour ends on arrival in the late afternoon. Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch

Day 5

Nairobi: We've added on Day 4's (1 night) post tour accommodation, to ensure you have enough connection time for your return flight to Johannesburg once your tour returns late afternoon back into Nairobi. Your return flight home is today.

    • Regarding Group Size, the maximum is 7 people and the average is 5 people. Please note this trip runs often in order to provide maximum flexibility when choosing dates. It's possible your group size will be fairly small.

    • You must be 18 to travel unaccompanied on a G Adventures tour. For minors travelling with a guardian over 21 years old, the minimum age is 12.

    • Your flight must arrive by or before: Arrive at any time.

    • People older than nine months travelling from risk areas (not South Africa) need a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Travellers returning to South Africa from Kenya will also need a yellow fever certificate.
