Lembongan & Kuta, Bali Review
IGO TRAVEL’s jet-setting consultant, Brendan Pottier, recently travelled to Lembongan and to Bali. We followed all his Facebook updates (green with envy) and bore witness to his travelling escapades and his incredible experiences. We would most certainly be doing the destinations an injustice if we didn’t share his experiences with you.
Where did you stay in Lembongan?
“I stayed at the Indiana Kenanga, a luxurious boutique hotel; set on the beautiful Jungutbatu Beach, just a stone’s throw from the bustling Bali.”
You’ve travelled far and wide, and you’ve experienced many different hotels and resorts. What were your thoughts on the Indiana Kenanga in Lembongan?
“The Indiana Kenanga is very up-market. The villas give off a very exclusive feeling. The food is incredible, that is what you go to this resort for. The chef is a French Chef, and if you’re a foodie, it’s right up your alley. Having said that, you’re also paying more for the food, because it’s so exclusive. The hotel is about ten minutes from where the ferry arrives, so it’s not a long transfer to the hotel. My absolute favourite and most memorable aspect of this hotel is the location. The sunsets are exquisite! The hotel also has a wonderful flow about it as you walk through to the beach. The service is also excellent.”
After your stay in Lembongan, you ferried off to Bali, where did you stay, and how was your experience?
“I stayed at The ANVAYA Beach Resort Bali, in the centre of Kuta. It was magnificent! This resort deserves it’s 5-Star status, and I definitely recommend it. The moment I arrived at the resort, I was met by an elegantly dressed representative who welcomed me with a mouth-watering welcome drink and stayed with me whilst I was checking in, and ensured I was comfortable in my room. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be a great stay.
Something that sticks out for me and that is an excellent portrayal of what a fantastic resort this is, is the amenities in the room. I’m used to getting amenities with soaps and shampoos and the sort, but I was so pleasantly surprised that the dental amenity kit had a personal touch like Listerine; there was also a shaving amenity kit; and all the amenities were labelled specifically for the ANVAYA Beach Resort Bali. The attention to detail is phenomenal.
After settling in, I walked out to the pools, and they are gorgeous! The pools run out to the Beachfront. I went to have breakfast, and was amazed at the kaleidoscopic variety on offer. Again, I was blown away by the service from the staff, and I loved that I was made to feel special. I travel a lot, and on my own, and I’ve noticed that as a single traveller, more often than not, more attention is given to families and couples, and sometimes one feels slightly neglected as a single traveller, and it was incredible that at the ANVAYA Beach Resort Bali I was made to feel special.
The staff were constantly smiling, and not a forced smile, but natural. You could tell they were genuinely happy. Before my trip, I booked a few day tours in Bali, and I actually cancelled them to stay at the resort, that’s how much I loved it, and how welcome I felt.”
